I know, crazy right? But hear me out.

If I can influence, motivate, inspire, or offer direction that helps just one person change their lifestyle and conquer their health and fitness goals, I’ve succeeded.

I can’t offer a quick fix, but I can remove confusion, simplify things, and inspire you to take action!

Success requires SOME change. Getting into shape DOES NOT mean starving yourself, running endlessly on a treadmill, or extreme exercise programs.

There IS a better way!

1.Nutrition and exercise are two of the biggest contributors to your physical, mental, and emotional health.

There is a lot in life you can’t control, your exercise and nutritional habits are two things you can!

2. Exercise highlights your life, it’s not your life.

You don’t need to workout everyday or spend ALL day at the gym.

I don’t blame people for not wanting to exercise. If I had to do what magazines and fitness models suggested I wouldn’t do it either! Things like weighing food, counting calories, running endless miles on a treadmill, spending an entire workout on your quadriceps, exercising for 90 days straight (P90X), or doing extreme exercises programs like Crossfit aren’t necessary.

It can be much simpler than that.

Three to four, short, intense, quality workouts each week is all it takes. Focusing on large compound exercises like Squats, Deadlifts, Pullups, Bent Over Rows, Push – Ups will deliver fantastic results!

3. Focus on health and fitness, and the physique will follow.

Instead of exercising for arms, abs, or a nice butt, exercise to increase your quality of movement, overall fitness, and strength. Doing this will reveal the physique you’re after.

4. Quality of food over quantity of food.

Worry less about how much you eat, and more about what you eat.

You can’t out train nutrition or out run your fork. Six pack abs are built-in the gym, and seen in the kitchen. Food is more than calories its nutrients that allow your body to function and thrive.

The foods you eat impact the hormones that control your appetite and ability to use stored fat.

Not always easy, it is SIMPLE. Eat natural “real” foods, not processed food products.

5. Quality of movement over Quantity of movement.

It’s not about moving more it’s about moving better. Exercise either strengthens dysfunctional movement patterns, or strengthens you out of them. Simply doing “more” while lacking proper mechanics increases dysfunctional movement patterns, and leads to injuries.

Most trainers lack the experience and knowledge about posture, proper movement patters, and muscular imbalances. The result is having clients  “move more.” Yes you will be tired, hot, sweaty, and under the impression you’ve received a great workout. Unfortunately you’ve probably strengthened dysfunction, and are doing more harm then good.

Mechanics matter.

6. Have fun be happy!

Life is short, make it count. If it’s not fun and doesn’t excite you, it’s not worth doing. Find a form/place of exercise you enjoy.

Here’s the quickest way to start Living Great

1. Resistance Train

Perform Resistance Training 3-4 times each week (you can even create amazing changes two!). Keep workouts around 45 minutes. Focus on large compound movements.

2. Sprint

 If capable, high intensity exercises likes sprints are an easy way to kick up your fitness level. These short workouts are performed once a week and last 15-20 minutes. Sprint a short distance (40-100 meters), recover, and repeat.

3. Get Moving

Perform lots of low level cardio (aka walking). Hike, walk to the store, or out to dinner. Get out and play with the kids. How to exercise with kids.

4. Focus on the food.

80% of your physique is a result of your nutrition. Don’t waste your hard work, with poor food choices. Clients eating “Real Food” or a “Paleo-ish” diet, most of the time, are very successful at creating and maintaining a lean, healthy physique.

5. Prepare your mind.

Your mindset and desire to LOOK, FEEL, and LIVE GREAT coupled with your belief that YOU CAN, is essential to your success. You simply have to get the “action ball” rolling. Once you do, it’s hard to stop.
